A unique and amazing literary series that uses both the tonal influence of Hip Hop and the literary genre platform of fantasy-fiction; the result is a clean, family-friendly, amazing tale that offers both excitement and magical suspense...
Description
Cris Alexander Ellison is a young man who, with great pride, overtly claims and supports the culture of Hip Hop.

Little does Cris know that he has a direct genealogical link to an ancient, prophetic African tribe that is said to have sown the seeds for the Hip Hop ideal some several thousand years ago.

As a result of this unique link to the past, Cris soon finds out that he is the anointed holder of an ancient mystical key; one that will release the current Hip Hop culture from its dwindling existence — and guide it back on the golden path of resurgence.

Fully accepting his noble destiny, Cris sets out to fulfill the prophecy — only to encounter a major tumbling block in Roger “Feedback” Cromwell and his Hip Hop for Destruction clan.

What follows next is a pulse-pounding race for survival as Cris tries to fulfill his date with destiny — and evade certain death at the hands of a ruthless enemy.

Powerful, moving, and riveting until the very last page, The Chronicles of a Hip Hop Legend is a towering triumph by one of fantasy-fiction's most prolific new talents.

"Verbal Arts" by SAN (Lesotho) and Dr. LEKTA (United Kingdom) on #FD #RT

You have now entered the mind state of Dr LEKTA and SAN, the Instru-Monumentalist.

The story that has through time become known as VerbalARTs begins with Dr. Lekta travelling through the wasteland still struggling with his split personality Hip Hopkins. Along the way he meets a fellow traveller, beat smith and warrior by the name of San, the Instru-Monumentalist. San informs Lekta of a place not too far off called the City Of Realms where its inhabitants are a people polluted by wack music. Together, they agree to embark on a quest for the city with righteous intention of cleansing it of this plague. In preparation, San forges a sword for the Dr and explains that if he proves successful in freeing the city from the musical mediocrity that enslaves it, he will find purpose and in turn be rewarded with a remedy for his split personality.

As the Dr explores the City of Realms, slaying anyone verbally and physically in his path with fine crafted beats provided by San, the two are unstoppable on their journey and the story of the Dr lives on.

The new tape features nearly 50 tracks from up-and-coming artists around the world, as well as some cuts from established artists sprinkled throughout, including a handful of exclusives from Priest. "One thing about progression is being able to look back and see how far you traveled. Nearly half a decade into this Digital Dynasty sh**, it just keeps getting better," Advo says of the tape. "Not too mention having my long time homie, Killah Priest, host this one just added another level to the legacy. This volume right here is straight raw, underground, down in the basement in a cypher type of feel to it. This is so anti-industry it's not funny." Without further adieu, fans can download Digital Dynasty 24 now, via SendSpace.com, or DatPiff.com. Also, support Killah Priest by following him on Twitter @KillahPriest. On The Run

December 11, 2012

I’m keeping all the scars you gave me
I show them to you indirectly
I’m scratching at the pain within
Let me show you how the world begins

I’m so terrified of losing you
I may be a prophet but I need a clue
I’ve walked the earth my feet dark with dust
Is there anything we can trust?

I’ve been dreaming of a wonderful life
Live in peace with a child and a beautiful wife
But life’s a liar baby, life’s a cheat
Making promises it cannot keep

I’ve seen the promise, man I’ve seen a light
Ive been breathing in my freedom after such a long fight
But I’ve been damaged by the damage done
Now I’m living out my life like I’m on the run

“This EP is free but that doesn’t mean it’s any less important – it is just built from samples of Voodoo Music and therefore unsellable.
Hyperdub have now shared the ‘Xorcism’ EP, which is built around samples of Haitian Voodoo Music, meaning it cannot be sold for commercial purposes.
Seven tracks. Seven stories. The Spaceape delves deep to release a set of tracks influenced by the spirit of Haitian music. The vibe is raw, chaotic, percussive and hypnotic. The Spaceape’s flow is fluid and lucid as he guides us through these short chapters.
The title, ‘Xorcism’, comes from The Spaceape’s (Stephen Samuel Gordon) ongoing experience of living with a rare form of cancer, Neurolymphamatosis for the last 3 years. This intense experience was behind the sonic fictions of bodily malfunction and radiation that surrounded The Spaceape’s collaboration with Kode9 on 2011’s ‘Black Sun’ album. Relisten to the lyrics to tracks such as ‘Black Smoke’, ‘Neon Red Sign’ and ‘The Cure’ and you’ll understand the context to this new batch of The Spaceape’s solo material. Whilst Stephen now feels able to open up about his condition through his music, treatment is still ongoing so you will understand this is still a sensitive matter.
All tracks are under 3 minutes. Everything that needs to be there is here and nothing more. The rattle of ‘On the Run’ fades up to tell a story of how life can deceive us, tricking us into thinking all is well in our world, until this appearance is shattered. ‘Your Angel Has Come’ is an argument with The Creator, as the thought of death becomes a reality. The sombre, beatless, spoken word of ‘Spirit of Change’ pictures a man in search of spiritual healing from the harshness of wind and rain, whilst ‘Palaces’ rages against a body that betrays. ‘He Gave His Body Over To Science’ details deranged medical experimentation, and ‘The Sound’ continues the theme of our uncertain future controlled by an unknown vibration. Finally, ‘Up in Flames’ rallies against man’s complacency in a world we inhabit so briefly.
To exhale is to breathe out. These vocalizations are an exhalation, a healing, and an exorcism of The Spaceape’s demons.
