Raiza Biza is an up and coming underground Hip Hop Artist, who has just featured in the latest Rip it Up magazine as a 'who's next' Artist to look out for.

Raiza Biza is a young rapper based in Hamilton/Auckland. His lyrics are often reflective and introspective, and accompanied by soulful jazz-influenced instrumentals. The Raiza Biza story is one of a young immigrant trying to adjust and find his place in a new land.

His EP release, the Dream Something LP, was well received and showed his range in subject matter. It also served as a showcase of some of the talented producers that NZ has.

Raiza Biza has just released his second EP 'Summer' and is currently busy promoting it nationally around New Zealand.

Each and every year a select few major cities across the country celebrate the life and musical legacy of the late James "Jay Dee/J Dilla" Yancey.  This year in DC we're going to turn it up a notch by having 10 DJ's on the lineup, including Detroit’s own Waajeed [founding member ofSlum Village & Platinum Pied Pipers].  Mrs. Maureen ‘Ma Dukes’ Yancey will be there as our honorary special guest, and Aniekan Udofia will be doing a live art installation throughout the night.  Last but certainly not least, the night will be hosted by the Soul Brother #2, Grap Luva.

Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the J Dilla Foundation for arts education and Lupus research.

Biografía

Si le groupe Djanta Kan rugit aujourd’hui au-delà des frontières togolaises , YaoBobby est bien celui qui a su faire résonner les sonorités de son groupe. Membre fondateur du meilleur crew de rap du Togo, c’est d’abord sous le pseudonyme de Bobby qu’il s’érige parmi les pionniers du mouvement Hip Hop du pays.
Après deux albums (AGBEADZEZO et DOTO !) largement plébiscités par le public et les organ

isateurs des festivals africains, les rois lions préparent un nouvel opus et les voix des trois membres du groupe font leur chemin en Europe et sur le continent américain. Des festivals, des sound system, des invitations sur scène (Didier Awadi a invité YaoBobby lors de son show à Paris, sur la grande scène de la Villette), ou sur des compilations (YaoBobby représente sur Frontières Sud sortie en septembre 2009, entre autres…)
Et parce qu’il est l’une des têtes penseuses et l’une des fortes voix du rap africain, YaoBobby est membre du plus grands réseau d’artistes du continent noir AURA (Artistes Unis pour le Rap Africain) au côtés d’Awadi, Xuman, Tonton David, Yeleen, Tata Pound… et avec lesquels il a monté et présenté une comédie musicale dans l’ensemble des pays d’Afrique. Parallèlement, il monte sa propre structure de production ARTS2RUES avec laquelle il travaille avec ardeur à la professionnalisation des jeunes artistes et à la promotion d’un véritable mouvement Hip Hop africain.
YaoBobby représente PARTOUT. Il se montre, échange, rencontre, revendique et chante, écrit, il rappe son Togo dans tous les lieux où l’on parle. Et l’on parle, de Djanta Kan en Angleterre dans la compilation Afrolution aux côtés des grands noms du rap d’Africa, de YaoBobby dans la compilation américaine Diaspora Hip Hop mondial, en featuring avec les artistes les plus reconnus de la scène hip hop actuelle.
Et parce que l’énergie et la volonté du créateur du crew Djanta font échos jusqu’aux contrées les plus lointaines, des festivals aux Etats-Unis et en Afrique du Sud se montrent très intéressés par le travail des ambassadeurs togolais.
Un Hip Hop traditionnel qui revendique une vraie identité, une attitude humble et respectueuse, la recette du groupe Djanta Kan, dignement représenté par un membre qui a su créer autour de lui tout un réseau et se faire connaître des plus grands, est très efficace. Ainsi l’un des plus grands labels parisiens s’est approché de YaoBobby pour qu’il représente le Hip Hop africain. C’est donc avec ferveur que la tête chercheuse des Rois Djanta va porter très haut le drapeau du Togo.
